Explanation
The ranking is based on all major global competitions, led by the Olympic Games, the World Championships, and the World Cup. To preserve comparability across different eras, winners of the Four Hills Tournament events are also included for the period before the establishment of the World Cup.
The achievement and holding of a world record are also rewarded, representing important milestones within the sport. Team events do not affect the individual rankings; however, they are included in the national rankings with three times the point value.
